Our Product Safety Team proactively investigate and address any reported safety complaints to ensure customer protection from any potential product related safety risks. After investigation if required we will immediately withdraw any affected products and will promptly inform both customers and resellers involved.

SAFETY NOTICE CLOSURE NOTICE

The safety issue published on 1 April 2025 [2502-0118] has been addressed and resolved by carrying out the following remedial work:

·        Replacement of existing 3500W heater plate with a 1800W heater plate

·        Replacement of circuit breaker and power switch

The safety measures have been implemented and the changes have been made to all presses that have been identified. The press manual has been updated with new electrical schematics,  parts location guide and the updated UKCA Declaration of Conformity.

Defect:

The 3500W heating plate has a serial plate rating of 15 amps but has been supplied for use in the UK with a 13amp fused plug.

Identifying if you have an affected model:

Check the Model No. is one of the following:
XRF2, XRF2PP, XF, XRF-TT, XRF
Check the WATTS/AMPS are:
3500 / 15
Please note that models with
Watts/Amps: 1800 / 7.5 are
NOT affected by this safety notice.)

Hazards:

The following hazards are identified as a result of the product’s risk of failure:

  • There is a risk the products electrical cabling and/or switches will overheat and become damaged.
  • There is a risk that the electrical wall socket will overheat and become damaged.
  • There is a risk of an electrical fire.
ACTION - STOP USING IMMEDIATLEY

If you have any products that were supplied to you during the specified period
and matching the Model No. and WATTS/AMPS as detailed above, you should
stop using the product immediately, and:

  • Disconnect the Heat Press from the electrical supply.
  • Contact Stahls UK (Europe) Ltd to arrange for a product modification.
  • Stahls UK (Europe) Ltd will supply and fit, free of charge to you, an 1800W heating plate to replace the existing 3500W heating plate.
  • The power switch and circuit breakers will also be replaced as part of the modification process.
